The Mitre Inn is situated on the Two Moors Way in the lovely village of Witheridge , which is some 10 miles West of Tiverton, and 9 miles South East by
South of South Molton, on the B3137, the Old Tiverton to Barnstaple Road.
First built in the sixteenth century as a Coach House, the Mitre is now a Grade Two listed building located at the very heart of a rural community, and
set amidst un-spoilt and undulating countryside which has a remote and tranquil feeling difficult to find elsewhere these days.
Witheridge is at the very centre of the region known as the Devon Heartland, an area that provides some of the finest walking and cycling in the South
West of England through a network of dedicated footpaths and sleepy country lanes, making it an ideal base for walking holidays and for those requiring a
quiet break in beautiful countryside. For those who prefer the coastal resorts, then our location within the county means that most of Devon is within an
hours easy drive offering access to the beautiful North Devon beaches of Woolacombe Bay, Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay, and resorts such as Ilfracombe,
Minehead and Porlock, and to the South is Dartmoor National Park, and the seaside resorts of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Dawlish.
