Being located at the centre of the region known as the Devon Heartland opens up an enormous range of activities for those who like to explore. The nearest attractions are based in and around the historic market town of Tiverton (11 miles), such as the Grand Western Horse Boat Company where visitors can ride on the canal-boats and meet the horses, and Bickleigh Mill, which is situated in a beautiful location upon the river Exe and has craft shops and farm animals to look at. Tiverton also has a museum and a 12th Century castle which offers the chance to see medieval architecture and civil war armoury, and a next-door church with exquisite stained glass windows.
